My Rabbit Children

Guchu came to our house in 1991. At that time, our daughter Luna (Bubu) used to study MBA degree course in Podar Institute at Jaipur and therefore stayed in Hostel there. In Delhi my wife and I used to stay only. So, we thought to keep rabbits in our house so that we do not miss Luna so much when she would be at Jaipur.

After we brought Guchu, we brought another rabbit and named it as "Fuchu". Fuchu was brought so that Guchu does not feel lonely.

When Luna finished her MBA degree course and came back home, with Luna, Guchu and Fuchu we had a wonderful time. Luna joined service. My wife used to attend her beauty parlour. I used to attend my office as usual. In the evening we used to meet together. With my wife and Luna, Guchu and Fuchu, we used to sit on the bed, see the TV serials, take tea and snacks and enjoy and enjoy. Guchu and Fuchu used to enjoy carrots, Palak, and Pakoras also. That was a memorable time. When Vaishnav saints, my friend Niharda used to perform Kirtan or narrate the activities of Lord Sri Krishna, Lord Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Lord Nityananda Mahaprabhu, both Guchu and Fuchu used to remain calm and listen to kirtan and discourses silently.

Guchu was totally attached with Luna and used to feel depressed in her absence from the house. We always cherish their memories.

Fuchu left this world on the 2nd August, 1995 while we including my Vaishnav friend Niharda, were chanting "Bhaja Nitai Gaur Radhey Shyay, Japa Hare Krishna Hare Ram", the holy NAM that we got from our Gurus at Sri Pathbari Asram.

Guchu left on the 20th January 1996 when my mother was with us at Delhi. Guchu and Fuchu taught us how much love we can earn by loving only. Their physical departure from us was nothing less than the departure of very near family members. Their love to us changed our mind and attitude towards the animal world and made all of them dearer to us.
